Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Cloud Orbit S Wired Stereo Gaming Headset's sound quality and 3D audio features, with many praising the immersive audio experience. Comfort is also frequently cited as a positive, although some users note the headset's weight and potentially tight fit. While the high price point is a common concern, the overall audio performance seems to outweigh this drawback for many buyers.

Best sounding Gaming Headset I've tried and I recently returned the Steelseries Artic Pro's because of a fitting issue. Great concept with the motion detecting 3D sound sound and will work if you have 49" widescreen monitor or console gaming on a 75" inch TV but for my set which is a 27" high refresh rate monitor there is not enough head motion to activate the feature. I did try this with my HTC Vive great for VR shooters. Overall if your ok with paying for premium 100mm drivers and sound its a great buy.

I did quite a bit of research online before purchasing these. Coming from a Hyper X Revolver (stereo) headset, I was looking for an upgrade in fidelity that would also have some of the features that I like with other gaming headsets. Closed back was a big one for me, which made my search slightly more challenging. Many headphones in this range are open back, and I didn't want much sound getting in or out. These are planar drivers, not cone. I won't go into much detail other than to say these type of drivers produce a cleaner sound than dynamic or moving coil. The downside is they require power. This headset has a battery inside, which means it requires power. I have them connected via usb-c to my pc, but when connecting over analog you will have about 8-10 hours of listening before they need to be charged. You can hear them turn on, but when audio is playing you can't hear it. I'm trying to hear it as I type this with tv on my other screen. I could do without the headset telling me when I've muted, charged, or changed modes, but it's nice to know sometimes. It would be a nice option to turn that off. Microphone sounds good, plenty loud, and a mute switch is right on the headset, no in-line controller which is a plus imo. Mic is also detachable and has independent volume control also on the headset. Most of the buttons and wheel have multiple functions and may take some time to get used to. 7.1 and 3d mode both work well. I still prefer stereo most of the time but it's nice to have options...some games or movies sound really good in surround, but it depends on the source. Head tracking is pretty neat, and would be perfect paired with a vr setup. Looking at a flat screen you don't turn your head enough for them it to be practical...but it certainly works as advertised. Hi-Res audio mode is only available on pc, and is the best sounding mode on the headset. Stereo sounds good still when connected to your phone or game controller. It's definitely heavier than my old set, and fits a bit tighter. It was almost alarming how loose my old set felt after wearing these for the last three weeks. These are comfortable, thick ear and band pads feel nice, but they do clamp. If you are sensitive to pressure, you may find some discomfort. The band is adjustable and the cups turn and swivel. In conclusion, they sound amazing and they were well worth the price for that reason alone. They fit snug, which doesn't bother me but could bother some. This headset will connect to a variety of devices and offer convenient options. I don't really use the software, though like I mentioned before would be a great addition to a VR setup. If you want high quality audio with great features and no additional equipment, it's hard to find a better set. They're not wireless, but I wasn't looking for that.

I have an Arctis Pro Wireless and Pro + GameDac, have had a Razer Nari Ultimate and the newer Astros, Logitech, other HyperX, etc etc. Pretty much if it has been a top tier gaming headset for any platform, I have it or have owned it and weighed these against that competition. These are basically a rebranded Audeze Mobius minus the bluetooth with a HyperX logo. These do not feel like a HyperX product which are normally SUPER comfortable. The sound and especially 3D Audio these provide is better than anything else on the market for a gaming headset. If you want anything better for audio quality than these you would need expensive audiophile headphones that are thousands. Given this, price seems more than fair. Pros -Best Sound Available -Best 3D Audio Surround Available -Best Positional Audio for Competitive FPS Available -Good Build Quality Cons -Hurt my head after an hour -Wish it was wireless -Leather Ear cups not breathable -The S version isn't worth the extra $30 -No equalizer available. Bass is lacking in Music a bit. TLDR; Best in pretty much every gaming headset audio category, however the discomfort in even short gaming sessions caused me to return this. If they ever made a wireless and more comfortable version, it would be the best headset ever.

I've gone through a number of gaming headsets on my quest to find the absolute best, and the Cloud Orbit S is absolutely in a league of it's own. Excellent passive noise cancelation, unparalleled sound quality, the signature HyperX comfort factor, and the Waves NX 3d audio (with head tracking) immerse you in the soundscape to a ridiculous degree. The Audeze planar-magnetic 100mm drivers pump out crisp, clean, powerful sound that is superior to anything else you'll find on the market. The price may seem extreme, but you're absolutely getting what you pay for if you're looking for the ultimate gaming headset. Once you take the plunge you won't want to go back. If you can stretch the budget, I highly recommend the Cloud Orbit S for console and pc gamers alike.

If you are in the market for the best audio you can get for gaming and dont mind spending the hefty price tag, then the Cloud Orbit S is a great choice. The planar drivers that power this headset are by far one of the best sounding drivers in the market, we have seen headsets using this same technology for triple the price of these. Pros: -Best Audio quality among "gaming" headsets. -Comfortable to wear -Sleek design that dont scream "Gamer" -good quality mic (not the best out there) -Planar drivers!! -Planar drivers again.. Cons: -No audio mixer -No EQ customization -Limited mic settings -No 3D (surround) audio when used in consoles. -Requires charging due to the powerful planar drivers Very crisp sound, the virtual 3D sound technology is by far one of the bests in the market, keep in mind surround sound is a gimmick in most gaming headsets and would just dither the sound rather than enhance it, not on this pair.. They have a very usable 3d space and sound stage that still captures all the frequencies very smoothly with out distortions. all in all , if you have the money to get this headset, then you are getting one of the best audio quality headsets available for gamers. on a side note, be aware there is no sound mixing on this device and is not recommended to plug them into a mix amp since they already come with their own inside the headset. The software used to control them is very limited as far as customization of the EQ, you have some basic presets but you wont be able to tune each Frequency to your liking, but they do a great job with the presets. also the mic's is not the best but it gets the job done, i wish i could control the side-tone so I can hear myself more clearly but you just have to get used to what is available.

I wanted to say that this headsets sound quality is far better than any other gaming headset I have ever purchased. In my journey to these I had used Cloud Stinger, Cloud II, Revolver S, Logitech Pro G, Steel Series Arctis Pro Wired DTS v2. These sound better than my stand alone Beyerdynamic DT 770 as well. The planar magnetic drivers are what make these shine. I want to first state that I am half deaf from birth, I typically need to use a headphone amp for anything to sound half way decent to me. I do prefer my music loud, and for the first time, I am able to use these headphones without an amp, and be more than satisfied with the volume. From tests with co-workers on the mic, it appears to pick up more background noise than the Revolver S or Cloud II series. I don't know what they changed with this, but I wish I could find a way to get back to that same level of noise reduction, you could have a live concert going on in the background and no one would hear it. These pick up everything, but its a slight murmur from what my unfortunate test victim told me. I wish the USB C to C and 3.5mm cable these came with were braided like the USB C to USB A cable, seems like a small thing they could have done for such a premium headset price. However these are standard cables that can be easily replaced. The ear cup size feels like they are a bit smaller than the other hyperx series, they seem to clamp down a bit harder to my head as well. The size adjustment for these was ample for my large melon of a head.

It may be expensive but the planar magnetic drivers more then make up for the price. I have several audiophile headphones and these are just as good if not a bit better in sound quality. The bass is strong but not overbearing and the mids come through without getting lost. The highs are crisp and not brash or sibilant. The 3d tracking is interesting but is it the do all end all, no. It's an interesting function but it really doesn't add much to the overall gaming experience. But the 3d sound in itself is the best implementation of surround sound I've heard yet. Several times I took my headphones off or kept looking around to see if I'm hearing something in the room. The surround sound is that good. I've heard the sound mike is nothing special and I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on that part.

    Best headset I've ever owned

Let me preface this by saying I've been looking for a new headset, for a LONG time. I've tried wireless, wired, you name it, I've tried it. Cloud Revolver/S, Alpha, Cloud 2, G935, G933, Corsair Void Pro, Corsair 70 Wireless, all with something here, or there that irritated me to the point of selling them and getting another set. I've had my eyes on these for months ever since announcement, but the price tag was something I've been rather hesitant on pulling the trigger. I picked these up about 2 weeks ago, and after putting them on and listening to some music, I was just floored by the quality of this headset. I've NEVER heard a gaming headset sound anywhere close to this level of detail. The highs, mids, and lows are all appropriately balanced, the base is really powerful, but not overbearing, and the surround sound is simply the best I've ever heard on a headset(normally I turn surround off, it's terrible). I couldn't recommend these more. I know the price is HUGE, but that's the only negative I can think of. If you're looking for a headset to last you a LONG time, this is the clear choice.

I absolutely love these headphones and would highly recommend to anyone! Great sound quality, Firm and sturdy build quality although they are plastic. Extremenly comfortable for hours of gaming or listening to music.Excellent battery life. I also love the fact that you use these on any gaming platform whether it's PC, Xbox/PS4 or the Switch. For me, these heaphones have checked all the boxes and I would not go back to anything less. The only downside might be the price but you definitely get what you pay for.

These headphones are fantastic. They are great for music, movies, and gaming. The audio upgrade has given me an unfair advantage when playing online shooters, its almost like applied a cheat code... The waves audio software is pretty lackluster but it does the job and the 3D audio head tracking works well. These headphones are very comfortable. It would be nice if they included Bluetooth but its not necessary for my intended use. In conclusion the HyperX - Cloud Orbit S Wired Stereo Gaming Headset is worth every penny.

I bought these headphones over a year ago, upgrading from a pair of HyperX Cloud Alphas. I've been using HyperX headphones for a while, so I figured these headphones would be just as good as my previous pairs. While the sound quality is very high, it's certainly not $300 high. If you're willing to spend $300 on a pair of headphones, I'd recommend going with a pair of cheaper entry-level audophile headphones instead, and pairing them with a nice amp. The software, Orbit, is very lackluster. Very few customization options are provided - you can only choose between a few basic profiles, with no options available to tweak individual settings. The build quality of these is pretty poor - within a few months of getting them, I noticed the USB-C cable would wiggle around due to the port being partially rounded. This would result in frequent disconnects, which is never pleasant in the middle of a game or song. The plastic grips which hold the ear cups are also fairly thin, and crack easily. Less than a year after buying, I RMA'd with Kingston and they sent me a new pair, which, within a couple months, had something fall loose in the right ear cup. They still work, but I can hear rattling. At this point, I'll just ride the headphones out until they can't be used anymore, then go with something better - and cheaper.

Amazing sounds but I feel the headset were a bit heavy and the padding on top was not enough from making my head hurt. The wife of course ad more to the weight. The effects that it has very interesting and getting use to. I like the headset just unable to really enjoy it the way I would had love to if it because it was hurting my head. There is some good force that will clamp the headphones to your ears really good. I like the features it had detachable microphone. Worked with my PS4, PC, and Alesis Drums. The sound is by far the best I have heard on any headphones. Only deducting a start because of how much it hurt my head.

Bought for use with Xbox and pc. On pc, these work pretty well; they sound great and the 3D spatial effect is a cool feature. Only downside for pc is that there’s a very slight hum of background noise that’s more than on my other headphones. DON’T BUY THESE TO USE ON XBOX (if you care about the microphone). The microphone is essentially unusable due to a terrible buzzing noise. Hyperx is aware of the issue, there’s a hardware issue that they are working on. Supposedly an aftermarket microphone maybe fixes the issue, but for a $350 headset, I just returned the things. If you’re reading this review, google orbit s microphone buzzing and make sure they have fixed the problem if you really want these, but tbh, the sound quality and 3D effect don’t justify the exorbitant price.

Pro: Using them in hifi mode these things sound fantastic, mic Is great, my discord friends called it “asmr quality”. Cable provided is a nice long 10’ braided usb a to c. I should also state for regular stationary gaming the 3D audio and head tracking seems more of a disturbance, I kept it off however with a vr headset I could imagine it being super immersive Cons: basic software with limited adjustments, can’t tune your own eq, there’s no feedback/mic monitoring, unable to adjust noise gate, even tho wired still must be turn on manually every time on pc restart. Coming from Astros I woulda liked to see some chat mix adjustability, also unsure if I had a defective unit but there is a white noise hiss just when the headset is turned on. Contacted hyper x and was told to try another cable but it did it even with no cables attached, it’s not a huge bother as long as your playing some sort of sound it’s drowned out fairly easily. Overall I returned it for the lack of adjustability, but if you want plug and play it’ll be tough finding a better sounding headset

Very good sounding only for gaming on pc but for audio when you plug it it into the ps4 and for music it’s very muffled and quiet. The ear cups are kinda too small and the setting for 3D or spatial audio is very lacking. However when it comes to gaming it is unchallenged

The sound of these headphones were great! the head tracking worked really well. I liked that the virtual surround was built into the headphones so it worked with any device you use. Build quality was amazing. I had to return my headset because when in analog mode (8th inch aux cord) the mic had a really bad buzz, so it was not useable with xbox or any other device that did not support the USB connectivity. I worked with kingston support and did a ton of troubleshooting, the even RMA another cable but had the same result. I returned the unit because I paid way too much to have this type of issue and did not want to wait for an exchange in the mail since no best buy around has them in stock,

This is the best headset I’ve owned. I had Astro A50’s that were gen 4 previously and also have a pair of steelseries Arctis pro wireless. These blow the sound away when it comes to music and gaming. The spatial surround is really awesome as well. I mainly play games like Escape from Tarkov where sound is critical to identify opponents and these really get it right. If you can live being wired and are a PC gamer get these. I was not able to get them to work with my Xbox one, but that may have been my controller.

I have over 10 gaming headsets as I'm a compulsive buyer. These headset come with a lot of features. Hi res/two way sound modes. Also comes with real time 3-D sound monitoring 3rd party application you have to download, which is cool to see how it interact with your head movement. The headset isnt a just throw on and play. Most games use 2 way stereo so a lot of features seem gimmicky but cool non the less. After reading the manual these are pretty close to my high 1990 Dt Beyerdynamic as far as sound quality goes but without an amplifier. I recommend for anyone who's never had high end headphones or need a pair for on the go gaming.
