• What are trying to do? Open a star gate? Just get 2 more 8gb and be done with it. But if you wanna try, go ahead. Just don't be surprised when your computer starts building a terminator.

• Putting in memory of different size and/or different manufacturing is a sure fire way to getting intermittent errors/bsod/shut downs, etc. If you want more memory, you need to replace all of it with memory from the same batch. It doesn't have to be matching memory... just all from the same batch (same manufacturer ordered at the same time),.
