“Is there a way to tell which motherboard is in the system from the outside of the box? I ask because want to run Linux on the system for deep learning and I need a MB that is compatible.”

All of them currently ship with an Asrock brand...Asrock Pro - IB. It is a branded version for IBuyPower.
