Did you plug it in on the top part of the back? I did that and the display said the same thing, but if you look at the indented part on the back there are caps that you can remove that you can hook up your cord to that will send a video feed to the monitor.

I have a friend who works with computers at his job, and we took a look- nothing he could advise me about worked (reseating the RAM, reseating the graphics card, resetting the BIOS, etc). I ended up returning the computer and reordering, hopefully the issue won't happen with the next one. My friend said it was likely a bad motherboard or graphics card.
