• The USB port is only for charging. This has an AUX port to connect audio devices and can play audio through Bluetooth.

• I understand your question. This unit has a USB port in the back to charge mobile devices. You cannot play audio files through the USB port and this is not a portable unit. It must be plugged into a wall outlet at all times to work. Battery is a backup in the event of a temporary power outage.
