“The description says "digital radio" but it does not say "HD Radio." The digital FM radio standard in the US is called HD Radio. Does the FM receiver on this device actually pick up HD Radio digital signals? Or is it just a misleading product description?”

Based on the convoluted and purposefully indirect answer from iHome, I would conclude that this product does *not* pick up HD Radio, which means that if you are in the United States you will only be able to receive analog audio for radio broadcasts on this device.
