We apologize for the experience you encountered. Please follow these steps to reset the unit 1. Remove the batteries from the unit. 2. Unplug the unit from its power source (AC adapter). 3. Wait 20 minutes (not just a couple minutes) 4. Plug the unit into a power source (without batteries). If normal operation is restored, insert "new" batteries into the unit.
