Mine did the exact same thing, and so did the replacement. Both happened after a year and a half for me, and I had to go through the warranty I paid extra for with the first one. Since your's isn't a year old yet I would check with Best Buy about the manufacturer's warranty. FYI I was told to stop using it, and after sending the first one in they said that it was unfixable. I don’t recommend buying a new one if it's not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Looks like there are a handful of other reviews that have experienced this same issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello BrooklynKings! I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your Insignia™ 1.1 Cu. Ft. Microwave. The problem you're describing, where the microwave turns on and off by itself, could be due to a few potential causes: Faulty Door Switch: The door switch might be malfunctioning, causing the microwave to turn on and off intermittently. Control Board Issues: There could be a problem with the control board, which might be sending incorrect signals. Touchpad Malfunction: The touchpad might be registering false inputs due to a malfunction. Since your microwave is only 10 months old, it should still be under the manufacturer's warranty, which typically covers defects in materials and workmanship for one year. We recommend contacting our Insignia customer support team (877-467-4289) for further assistance. In the meantime, continuing to unplug the microwave after each use is a good safety measure.
