Yes, your 11x11 inch square plate will fit! Even a 12x12 or 13x13 will also fit. Per the interior dimensions stated in the user manual PDF: 13.9 × 14.5 × 9.1 in. (35.3 × 36.8 × 23.2 cm) This just means it won't clear the sides when rotating on the diagonal, but your food will still be heated. Also, the 12 inch turntable is not the limit to a round plate, there is almost an inch of clearance around it so any diameter below 13.9" should be okay.

I've used long cooking vessels, they just don't spin with the turntable. I have no issues

An 11-in square plate is 15.5" diagonally at its widest point (a^2 + b^2 = c^2 for right triangles) and someone said the turntable is only 12", so your plate probably won't fit.
