Clearly the manufacturer's page doesn't cut it. Go to the chip maker ( its a PL-2303 SIO Smart-IO) Look for the "PL2303 Windows Driver Download USB to UART RS232 Serial" section on the Profilic web page. BONUS, their site is in English and easily re-searchable.

Thanks, dude! This driver actually works for a different generic USB to RS232 adapter I have as well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you using Windows 7, go under Device Manager and look for the Ports (COM & LPT). Then if one is there get the Properties and click update driver. When I looked, there was a Prolific USB to Serial Com Port. I tried update Drivers and it cam back there were. I plugged in my IDTECH card reader slider and it appeared as (Com7). Went to Gym Assistant and check the port setting for Gatekeeper it showed up. Works great. I tried following the directions of connecting the adapter and letting w7 find the drivers and it did not seem like anything was happening. But if the Prolific driver did not work, I was going to delete the driver and see if connecting it did work. Hope this helps the next person.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used this cable to upload temperature data from a data logger, to my laptop with Windows 10, and I did not need to download a driver. It was simply "plug and play". The device software is "legacy" software, from back about 2008 or so, but it continues to work in Win 10. I needed this cable to "bridge" the device cable to my laptop USB port. I simply had to tell the software to use a different COM port from what it was expecting (3, instead of 1). So I'm not sure a different driver is needed these days for Windows computers.
