It will work with a USB 3.0 port as USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with older USB versions. It does not run at USB 3.0 speed but it is not necessary to as this device is normally used for simple console access.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It looks to be a older USB standard since the box says about 120kpbs speed. Works on my lenovo with USB 3.0 jacks and older laptop too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would be a big suprise to find the newer 'type C' multipin and 'flippable' connection on this device, but some USB 3.0 ports are wired to be backward compatible with USB 2.1 or 2.0 and are sized 'Type A'. You may need a hub or a special adapter cable if the connector is oval rather than rectangular in order to use a USB to RS-232 adapter. The USB Type A connector has been around for many years, and is common to many cigar-socket adapters used to power mobile phones ( the rectangular ports at the car end of a plug with cable system ). The adapter is NOT to be plugged into this type of charger, though it would fit. Look at your computer, etc. USB 3.0 port and note the size, if it is a type A- it would match those cigar socket adapters ( not the other end of the cable, which may vary ). USB 3.0 sized type A is downward compatible, yet you will need to be able to set your PC USB port speed and other settings to match your RS-232 device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey, yes the one end is a usb 3.0 connection. Will work great
