• Technically yes, but every Windows system I have connected it to had or was able download the needed driver automatically. The only issue I had was that a couple of times I had to right-click the device in device manager and select manually to "update driver", but Windows did everything from there on its own without me needing to point it to a specific driver I had downloaded myself.

• When you plug in the adapter it will automatically find the driver online. No need to preload a driver.
