Hi, Jackiie. Thank you for sharing your inquiry with us. This model of Portable DVDs does not have a battery to charge. However we do have a couple models (NS-P10DVD20 & NS-P10DVD18) that can be charged and they provide up to 2 hours of battery before having to be charged again. Alexander G. - Insignia Support
