“What is the run time of this unit?”

• Shredder instructions say it will run for 3 continuous minutes, and the shredder has a built-in overheat indicator light. However, if you frequently squirt lubricant into the slot it like I do with my mass shredding, it can run fine for 10-15 minutes or more! However, there are no ventilation holes facing outside the unit, and the metal machinery does get very hot. When you are finished, pull off the top unit and rest it on its side to let it cool down for 10 minutes.

• Can't really answer but my husband was going by the recommended time of 3 minutes on and rest for 30 minutes. He forgot and went for some time over that and everything went well. He doesn't know how long over he went.

• only runs about 10-15 seconds, depending on length of paper inserted. Then it is quite till next paper inserted.
