• Hi, Alex. Thank you for sharing this inquiry. This Shredder has an OVERHEAT indicator. It lights when the shredder has overheated. If this light is on, turn off the shredder and let it cool for at least 50 minutes. Alexander G. - Insignia Support

• I ran about 8 sheets at a time continuously and it overheated in 5-7min and had to sit 30+ before it would run. I considered installing a computer fan externally on top or over the exhaust to increase run time, but just ended up buying a bigger 18sheet royal because I usually shred in bulk.
