Try using a pan made for induction cooking. They have a round steel plate on the bottom made for induction cooking. This then heats up the whole pan. I have and use two brands of induction cooktops and they both work great. Maybe the cast iron pan that you have is causing your problem? Go out to a store that will sell you a cheap made for induction cooking but that can be used for any type of cooking with an easy clean finish and see if that cures your problem. If it does not then you probably have a bad induction cooktop. Mean while you have a great pan that can be used for any cooking.

Ceramic-clad and enameled pots and pans, like Le Creuset cookware, work with induction stovetops because hidden within the ceramic layer is an iron pan, which is magnetic. The Types of Pots That Don't Work with Induction; Aluminum, glass, and copper pans don't work with induction stoves, unless they are made with a layer of a magnetic material on the bottom. If your pan/pot is truly cast iron it should work on any induction stove
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can’t use a cast iron pan to cook with thIs unit. It requires a certain type of pot or pan. If the bottom of the pan is magnetized, it will work. Iron is not.
