Why won't Best Buy simply post the directions for shutting off this completely unnecessary (and unprotected) wifi? I have called their customer support, and I have downloaded the app with no luck on either count. POST THE DIRECTIONS BEST BUY. Wifi on a freezer is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. "your privacy is important to us" says Best Buy, except when it comes to secure Wifi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Disconnect the smallest connector on the back of the fridge. You have to remove the metal panel first. There should be a large white piece on the bottom/top of the clip that you need to pinch to remove the clip.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried the 3 sec toggle of the door panel Smart Things / Lock button: status of the wifi signal does not change. Wifi signal does NOT go off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On my model you can hold down the refridgerator button until ap appears and it turns off wifi. Be sure you unlock the panel first if it is locked by holding down the lock button for 3 sec. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On my new Samsung refrigerator, model RF30BB6600QL, holding down the "circle" button on the interior control panel for 3 seconds brings up the AP indicator. After repeating this process a couple of times, I closed the door (with "AP" showing) and the WiFi turned off after a while. A Samsung customer service rep told me it was not possible to turn off the WiFi, but the refrigerator signal did indeed disappear from the WiFi scanner app on my phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is also Bluetooth on the new Samsung remember the harness have 5 wires 12v 5v ground Tx Rx. One on top of circuit board in back of fridge, antenna on top, and the Bluetooth can be disabled under top hinge cover you’ll see the Bluetooth transmitter under there unplug n tuck away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same issue with my electric range. I made a tutorial on how to disable it, since there's no way of button pressing which does it. bitchuteDOTcom/video/safuoT8fKrqF/ Good luck
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On mine, there is a front-door option called “smart grid connect”. Hold that down for 3 seconds and it can toggle the darn unnecessary WiFi off. Use your phone to search for WiFi networks to check that it’s off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I will certainly NEVER buy an Insignia product again (and a little skeptical about any other "best buy" brand because of this: Not being able to disable wifi on the freezer is the most ridiculous and dangerous thing I've ever encountered in such a product. Having it on wifi is unhelpful and leaves an open wifi node for any hacker to get in. Also, I am not a refrigerator/freezer repair person! I'm not about to start fiddling in the back of the freezer to remove something that may or may not disable wifi - or possibly the freezer if I muck with the wrong thing! Enough said. Bad customer service on this one, Best Buy!
