Does the lid stay open if you keep your hand above the sensor? Or is the open/close button the only way it will stay open? null

Using the manual mode you can keep the lid in the open position for as long as you need it, until you turn manual mode off. Press the Open/Close button when the lid is open to turn off the sensor and have the lid remain open.

The lid will stay open if you hold your hand over the sensor. The lid will stay open if you push and hold the on/ off switch. There is quality explanatory instructions provided when I opened the box after purchase.

The lid open for couples minutes then close .

It will close by itself if there’s no activity.
and of course you can always close the door 
by pressing the button
