“Will this charge my phone with the otter box case on it?”

• Yes, with caveats. I have the Iphone Pro 12 Max with the Otterbox Defender Pro Series case and it is thick. To get the charger to work with the case, I had to drill a hole in middle of the solid internal shell (silicone outer shell hides this). Even with that you have to lay the phone centered across the Insignia logo. At other positions it starts charging, but then stops after a few seconds with the purplish light turning red.

• If the case is 5mm thick with no metal inside, it should work.
