• it's painted plastic so don't be too harsh with it or it will break off.

• Yes the one on ours is a molded colored plastic as most handles are now. and yes it is mounted approximately 20" center

• Handle is plastic, very sturdy. I have zero complaints. I wouldn't says its centered.. Its like a refrigerator handle...
