Your question was an important one for us too. The door swing clearance is only 1/2 inch and there is no handle protruding from the door. So, if you've got more than 1/2 inch between the side of the refrigerator with the hinge and the wall, you are good to go and won't have to worry about marks on the wall from a protruding handle either! FYI, this model comes with a reversible door. So, you also have the option to have the door swing out the other direction. The freezer pulls straight out, so there is no clearance on the sides for it.
