- Answer My suggestion is to have the delivery company or Best Buy do it before delivery. If you already have it, contact Insignia for instructions. It is a bit more difficult than expensive refrigerators. Cheers.

QuestionQuestion: Electrical cord is standard 3 ft. Due to location of electrical outlet the cord needs to reach 6 ft. Aside from having a new outlet installed, can a heavy duty power surge protector be safely used?

- Answer Not a surge protector, but a 10 gauge extension cord. They’re available in a short length. It will set you back about as much as installing a new outlet yourself, but we were in a rental and didn’t want to make a permanent improvement.

- Answer As long as the door hinge does not have to fit within that space, it will fit fine. The height of the refrigerator excluding door hinges is 64.9".

- Answer This is a frost-free fridge! If, for some reason, you have to defrost ice build-up (you may have left the freezer door open by accident, or you have a malfunction causing ice build-up) you would have to unplug fridge and facilitate melting the ice with pots of hot water or a hair dryer, or simply leave freezer door open & wait for ice to melt, mopping up any water accumulation in freezer.

- Answer I had this problem a year ago, and the culprit was the fan in the freezer quit working. Geek Squad fixed it...$120 for the diagnoses, $50 for the part and another $120 for the repair. A year later and I'm having the same problem. Diagnostic cost and repair cost are still $120, and I have to pay for the part again.

- Answer I just ordered replacement shelves from midea.encompass.com for my insignia fridge. Put in the model of your fridge and it will show all parts for sale. The selves I ordered were about 29 dollars for the large and 10 for the small.
