This is a frost-free fridge! If, for some reason, you have to defrost ice build-up (you may have left the freezer door open by accident, or you have a malfunction causing ice build-up) you would have to unplug fridge and facilitate melting the ice with pots of hot water or a hair dryer, or simply leave freezer door open & wait for ice to melt, mopping up any water accumulation in freezer.
