“Is there anything else I need to do to turn it on? I put in the (3) size D batteries and turn the red switch to on but nothing happens? Brand new out of the box and same with the batteries.”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, just the red on and off switch. Mine worked just by turning on the switch. So you might have received a defective one. I would return and exchange.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.press close first. the seal needs to be good. Sometimes if the lid is ajar I hit close then the auto works just fine. Keeps my dogs from getting into it which was my hope.
