It should, assuming your TV is on the smaller side (32-inch or so). I bought this soundbar for my bedroom 32-inch TV and it improved voice clarity a lot (I watch mostly news and documentaries). Most TV speakers are weak to begin with, and to make things worse they are usually in back of the TV facing the wall or downward, while a soundbar's speakers can be facing directly towards you so the sound will be coming right at you with no obstruction which helps a lot.

But if voice is important, a 3.0 or higher will also improve voice best. Best to go to BestBuy for a Demo.
