Will this pair with a FireTV remote? null

I paired it w/ my remote, took a hot minute. Now if we put something on pause, the TV times out/shuts off to save power/screen/etc, but the soundbar does not. So we go to turn the TV back on, and it turns the sound bar off. Any idea if it's possible to have the sound bar time out too? Also, it's confusing/annoying that the soundbar control buttons and operation lights are on top of the bar, I can't tell it if its on, off, or working when I'm sitting in front of it on my couch.
