“When I turn my tv on, the soundbar light stays red. So I use the remote to turn the soundbar on and it stays red. So then I manually press the on/off and eventually it turns green. What am I doing wrong? Note: professionally installed”

I had issues with the optical connection. It would only play audio from my Apple TV, and wouldn’t recognize any other devices, (Switch, DVD player, etc) and stopped working within a week entirely. I swapped to the included audio jack cable and have had zero problems and no noticeable difference in the audio quality since. It now works with all my devices.

Since your Soundbar turns on after manually pressing the ON/OFF button, try to check if your remote is working fine by navigating your soundbar. Make sure to point the remote control directly at the IR sensor on the front of your Soundbar. You must be within approximately 50 ft. (15m) of your soundbar and within 30° on either side.
