“I used the RCA cable, after plugging it into my cable box got it to work (did work when plugged in the dvd) The sound it not the best wondered if I bought the optical cable would it make the SB sound better, maybe more like the SB that has a subwoofer.”

I own two of these. One is connected with RCA cable and the other is connected with Optical cable. I have not noticed a difference in sound quality but the one connected to Optical cable has absolutely no hiss and is a little bit louder. My experience is that using an Optical cable is a little better. This particular sound bar does not go as loud and sound as good as other, larger, units. I also have a larger Sound Bar with a built in Subwoofer and there's no comparison.

Please try again later.Thanks RandomGuy, I'm going to go buy one today as I am so disappointed with the sound coming out of the soundbar (I've tried the 3 different setting on the remote as well) I didn't want to spend money on cable if it did not improve the quality to the level I expected.
