Upgrade to the Insignia™ - Soundbar with 39-Watt Digital Amplifier - Black Model: NS-SB316. You can connect a subwoofer to it, cable not included.

There is a 3mm jack out but I doubt that works for sending signal out. I use this for an Insignia 47" TV that had weak speakers. In a normal sized living room it works GREAT for watching TV shows and I was able to add it to my Harmony remote. Definitely connect it with an optical cable

first why would you want to. it's a little add on speaker that sounds a little better than the tv's speakers but if one were inclined, you would have to use an active subwoffer and you would plug left and right channels thru it.

This is just a midget sound bar with limited capabilities. If you need a subwoofer, better to invest in a better quality soundbar.
