• Think you need the sound bar's remote. No big deal once you set it to the level you want.

• It comes with a remote for the volume. Not sure if you can control the volume with your own remote.

• I haven't figured out yet myself we just turn the volume totally off on the tv remote and use the soundbar remote for volume.if you use both you get an echo sound. if you have an optical connect from your tv to sounder possibly.
