Can I plug these speakers into a Insignia 40" HDTV null

These come with a cord that has a 3.5mm end on both ends. There are 3.5mm to RCA that might fit into your tv, but I don't know if it will work on that or not.

I would probably invest in a sound bar or something. These aren't very good speakers, almost no bass. I probably wouldn't purchase them for my PC again.

If your TV has a 3.5mm audio jack then, yes you can.
