It should be able to access the files because it’s not utilizing the old operating system, it will ignore that part of the drive however if you start having problems or cannot access information take it to one of the Apple stores that has on site tech support and good luck
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For MAC OSX 10.1 to 10.13, and Windows for data sharing, use the ExFAT format to partition a new disk. This allows you read/write to the drive on both operating systems. If you copy from NTFS or Journaled systems, the read/write access is not going to work; OS X and the new updates programs are not always accessible based on the installation libraries. If you can share the drive over a drop box, BOX, ONE Drive or remote mounted sharing process, you can then copy the data and archive it to the drive. The new Apple OS has security to stop old data from harming any conflicts. Copy only data you need, not program data or libraries. I can not say anything about 10.14 due to its dark interface and you need the latest updates to run it, think about a VMWare, parallels, Virtual Box for data sharing if you run into an issue.
