“Is this the memory type that should be drained completely before recharging?”

• It is a lithium battery. As such it does not suffer from the "memory" that other rechargeable batteries do. However, it does have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles. I have had mine for a over a year and it still works as intended. I would say it gets used daily...
