I'm having the same problem with my new Insignia freezer. I've put petroleum jelly on as suggested. No difference. It takes serious strength to break the seal. When I pull on the handle, I actually pull the whole freezer forward. Loaded with food. My daughter bought the same size freezer, a Frigidaire. I experimentally tugged it open a couple of times tonight, no problem.

Inspect the seals (gaskets) around the doors to be certain that they are clean and free of debris.
