- Answer Yes it should do fine. The truth is any unit will refrigerate in a garage as long as it does not get wet. It will work less hard in cold environments

- Answer Yes, the control panel is in the middle of the door. The wires rare routed into the door at the top/right corner. I'm sure you'd be fine to drill anywhere BELOW the control panel, but keep in mind, you will be voiding the warranty.
