• If you don't have a cable subscription you will need a "Rabbit Ears" antenna.

• This TV has both an analog and digital tuner in it so it can "see" both types of channels. If you are going to need a box is going to be completely up to the cable signal though. The cable company may encode the signal where only their box can decode.

• Any tv will have to have a cable box or digital converter from the cable company. It's not possible to get the basic channels like in the old days.
