• Yes, there is an auto shut off if there is no pan on the cooktop for 10 seconds or more.

• Yes, it does but nothing can stop overcooking or burning food without supervision. But it does stop cooking if you forget. Hubby and I believe it’s the safest stove appliance on the market to date!
