“Can a 2.5" laptop drive be plugged into this? Not for long term use just for one time clone of a laptop drive that needs to be replaced - I know it won't be held tight and I won't be able to bump/move the enclosure if a 2.5 drive is in there.”

• Yes you can. I did this without an issue and just left the cover off.
