Good question. In some form or fashion (weight?) the washer determines how much of a load is in the basket and then adds water accordingly. A YouTube review indicated she could get a higher water level of water by putting the clothes in the basket, adding in a gallon of water (soaking the clothes) and then starting the washer. You can also select low, med or high water level, but to me the water level is not as high as I would find in my 36 year old Kenmore washer. I looked at the next level up Insignia washer and found that one has a function where you can press a button or two and get 3 gallons of extra water added to the wash cycle.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a high efficiency washer. It will automatically fill to the level to properly wash your clothes. It takes awhile to get use to this after using the regular type washing machine for over 20 years in my case but you will see that the clothes get clean and you save money. Be patient and you will be happy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This washer has an auto-sensing feature, it will automatically adjust the water level.
