• A:Answer I have no idea. My fridge is absolutely silent. I never hear it come on or off. So yes, it may be defective or if you have an ice maker in yours the lever may not be fully engaged or the water turned on at the source, meaning the wall behind the fridge. That would definitely make it buzz.
