The AC only shows the setting temperature on display. It is about 57.5/55.5/54.5dB at High/Medium/Low fan speed. It has evaporator system, no need to empty the tank after running AC.

I'm unsure of the decibel level but when the compressor isn't running it's very quiet, like a fan on low setting. When the compressor (whenever it's cooling) is running you'll hear a mechanical "ticking". You might be able to drown the sound out with a box fan or white noise machine. Most newer portable ACs are evaporative but they will still collect some excess water regardless. There's a drain plug that you can connect when in dry (dehumidify) mode and another drain plug at the bottom of the unit for any excess water. I typically lift it into the bathtub and tip to drain. It's a slight pain but worth it if it means you sleep cool.
