“For storing your AC the manual states for step 1 "Run the fan for 12 hours, then empty the drain tray". Step 2 says "Run your air conditioner in fan mode for 12 hours in a warm room to dry it and prevent mold". Is there a difference, or just extra drying”

• It looks like you just run it in fan mode to dry out the interior of the unit after you empty the drain tray. I guess it is to keep any interior metal parts from rusting from any water sitting in the unit over time.
