This isn’t a bug but a common situation with portable AC units. The built-in thermometer measures the temperature near the air intake or exhaust, not the whole room, so it can read lower than the actual room temperature. This causes the unit to turn off earlier than expected. To fix this, try placing the remote (which has its own temperature sensor) in a spot that better reflects the room temperature. Many users find the remote’s “Follow Me” feature helps the unit run more accurately. If you don’t have the remote nearby or it’s not working right, the unit’s sensor might not give a true room reading. If the temperature difference is very large or the unit isn’t cooling properly despite adjustments, contacting customer support or considering a return might be best.
