• This unit appears to operate fine on carpeted floors. I have not noticed any overheating issues. We have a low pile carpet that it sits on in our bedroom overnight. I believe the AC unit itself sits in the middle of the machine because the drain plug for the condensation is located in the middle. It is also lower in noise than our older unit.

• I purchased this three years back, and it sits on a carpeted floor. It doesn't move, and the unit never leaks. The two plugs have a redundant rubber seal. I just purchased # two for another room.
