“Does this unit have a water resivour that must be emptied periodically, or is it self evaporating? If so does it have the option to attach a hose to the back to vent the water runoff?”

It does have a water reservoir that will need to be emptied periodically. It beeps 8 times then P1 appears in the control panel. They do provide a very short hose that could be used for that purpose, however it might be easier to lift it onto the side of a tub to empty it out. Either way the water basin will need to be manually drained.
