Is the unit noisy? null

Yes the unit it's pretty noisy. Specially when the compressor kicks in. But overall it's an average tolerable noise.

This was purchased yesterday and installed today after allowing it to set upright for 24 hours. This has THE most horrible high pitched annoying buzzing sound of any portable I've ever purchased. it's like cards clicking through a bike wheel, or someone relentlessly flipping through a heavy paged book. This SHOULD not be normal. My black and decker ac does not do this. Can't possibly sleep with this thing in the back ground. ICK. An now will have to pack it up to return it. VERY disappointing.

If this is how the portable air conditioner is supposed to sound, I can accept it probably I think and get used to it. Kind of sounds like an orchestra of crickets splashing in a little bit of water. I have a Hisense portable also and it does have a continual sound and the sound comes together more uniform and almost sounds more like the shape of the device and then it makes sense this shape might produce an odd sound maybe with the design decision made? I’m going to think about it for a day or two. If it’s supposed to sound like this, I will accept it , but if not, I should return.
