“Do I need to leave the fan running on high when the ac (cool) is on or should I turn the fan off completely? This is not addressed directly in the manual other than how to prepare it for storing.”

Hello Chels, You may turn it off once the room is already cool.The fan sucks the hot and humid air from the indoor room inside the portable air conditioner. Insignia Support, Merjorie
