I bought this unit for my son who lives in a small apt in a very old building built around 1935. But the unit comes with a hose attachment that he put into the opening window and then pulled the window down until it contacted the top of the flat insert and put flat pieces of plastic on either side to cover the remaining sides of the open portion to block out air from coming in. So it appears you can adapt the exhaust hose adapter to fit any sized window. Hope that helps.
