• There is a vent kit that is provided with the unit which can be installed horizontally or vertically. This allows for installation in either casement or double hung windows. The hose is very flexible and it attaches to a narrow, plastic slat that is placed in the window. There is hardware included that allows for locking the window in place for security.

• No, the kit with this a/c is for sliding windows. The vent kits for most portable a/c s including this one don't work with casement windows. Either you have to cover the window opening somehow and leave a small opening for the vent. The ideal is a sheet of pricey plexiglass or cheaper plywood or you can buy a fabric sealing kit from a company like Hoomee.

• Window vent included - I used half of the rectangular window vent included plus a piece of cardboard and taped with clear tape to my old house wooden window

• The window sealing plate can be installed either vertically or horizontally.
