Once you put the leg extension on it is ready to use.

It also has a short connector plug & air tube that need to be connected to the mating plugs on the chair. The remote control cord and power cord connect to the rear of the unit. Quick guide instructions show the detailed steps. Takes about 5 minutes to get it all setup once unpacked.
